- Sienna Browne is a fourth year undergraduate student attending CSULB under the School Of Art as well as being a beach lifeguard. Her pieces of art highly consist of pieces of art that contain paintings that made from acrylic, wood snap print, oil, charcoal, mixed media, as well as charcoal and cheerios. Her main intention was to show the importance of the events in chronological order, where as to represent them through drawings and using other art concepts as well. The following timelines are applied: philosophy, entering the space, early college, nuddles, and an ultraviolet triptych.
2. For this artist conversation; unfortunately, this one is a little bit confusing, but I will still try my best to have a good understanding of what is the author’s purpose. According to most of the pictures that she took, most of them were made of acrylic, oil paint, charcoal, mixed media and much more. Most of the pictures had consistent lines which is straight, but there are some that have jagged lines. Most of her work that involve eating disorder as well as body dysmorphia. Most of them had color involved and can tell that there is always a message behind each photo. But understand that to others, some may be harder to understand the big picture behind each photo. But there is this one photo that is mostly black and white only; however, there are some light shadings of yellow that defeats the purpose of black and white. However, what is interesting is that there are good amounts of muted pastel colors involved.
3. To my understanding, the author is drawing photos to best to her ability to have the readers of what has dealt with in the past to what she may be with dealing with now. It does show clearly that she has overcame some stuff that she had to deal with back then. One example that I can take is her early college career, whereas when she first started college, there is an image that shows that she is trying her best to ignore all the negative connotations about her as well as to be the best as she can. In that particular case, it seems that there is a lot happening in that background. Also, there are words such as sexy, great ass, moves, etc, that pressure her to become a bad influence even if she didn’t know what that was if she were to be younger. Also, there are other people staring directly at her, so that way, she feels less comfortable about her body. In order to combat for herself, it seems like that she is putting her arms around her ears to ignore negative comments in regards to any negative comments about her body. Fortunately, she is able to conquer her fears such as eating disorders and body dysmorphia, as Sienna Browne progresses, she will conquer all fears of anxiety!
4. What this means to me is that disorders are not only serious to deal with, but also portraying them art could be very practical nowadays. Also, this is unfortunate that body dysmorphia and eating disorders does not apply to me. Knowing that Sienna Browne is not the only person in the world that is coping or has coped wit body dysmorphia and eating disorders, there should be at least other artists that draw pictures that best represent them struggling with these disorders that they have been coping with for a long time. Hopefully, humans can be stronger than their current disorder. All in all, there are many opportunities to express any disorder through drawing pieces of art. Respectfully, Sienna has shown fabulous pieces of art in order to think less about her disorders that she has shared with us.
